With a £50m transformation completed this March, AO Arena remains one of the biggest in the UK and Europe.
Through an ambitious redevelopment project, the AO Arena increased its capacity to 23,000. This included a 100% increase in standing floor capacity, to 6,200, making more fans feel even closer to their favourite artists.
This is supported by a brand-new lower concourse designed to reimagine the event experience throughout the entire venue, alongside a multitude of new bars and concessions, as well as an elevated food offering atThe Mezz restaurant and bar, featuring a menu with dishes curated by Michelin-star Chef Simon Rogan and Chef Tom Barnes of Skof.
The transformation also extends to places that our fans do not see, with improved acoustics, sound and sightlines. The artist’s experience has also been upgraded with an all-new backstage artist compound.
One of Manchester’s most successful artists and rappers Aitch visited the venue as a very special surprise guest. Welcoming guests to the evening festivities at the recent Topping Out ceremony he said,
“The AO has been pushing the music scene forward for over 27 years and over one million people walk through these legendary doors every year, and we have them right on our doorstep.”
AO Arena has firmly cemented itself as one of Manchester’s most vital cultural landmarks. Welcoming over one million people to the venue annually, this exciting new era of the AO Arena promises to attract even more guests and fans through its doors to witness everything from internationally acclaimed icons, the next generation of musical legends, comedy stars and sporting spectacles.
